Bohn leads Zurich Classic with a 65

04/22/2010 - Avondale, LA (Sportsbook Betting Lines) - Jason Bohn fired a seven-under 65 to take the first-round lead Thursday at the Zurich Classic of New Orleans.

Bohn, who missed the cut last week at the Heritage, tallied eight birdies and didn't make a bogey until his last hole, falling one stroke short of the course record.

"I just putted extremely well today," said Bohn, who captured the 2005 B.C. Open for his only PGA Tour win. "Every good opportunity I had for birdie, I made it. And I made a couple of good par-saving putts."

He took a two-shot lead over John Senden, Jeff Overton, Greg Owen, Jason Dufner and 2006 champion Chris Couch.

Playing for the first time since the Masters, former world No. 1 David Duval led a five-way tie at 68 that also included 2002 winner K.J. Choi, Charles Howell III, Troy Merritt and Kevin Sutherland.

Fifty-nine players finished the first round under par after a day of good scoring on the TPC Louisiana course.

The leaderboard was tight, despite Bohn's two-shot lead.

There were 37 players overall within five shots of his lead, including 2001 champion David Toms and 1997 winner Brad Faxon, who were part of a large group at 69.

Bohn hit 15 of 18 greens in regulation and picked up four of his birdies during a five-hole stretch beginning at No. 9.

Bohn took advantage of short distances into the greens on some of the holes during his birdie run, including shots of 60 yards at the 11th and 80 at the 13th.

"I think out here the key is you can miss the fairway by a couple of yards, there's not a lot of rough. So that kind of allowed you to kind of hit it and keep it more in front of you on the greens," said Bohn. "So without a lot of rough, you're not hitting too many uppers or flyers out there."

Bohn's scorecard was spotless until he hit an aggressive second shot into the water at the par-five 18th and made bogey. The round ended on a down note, but the day ended with Bohn on top.

"I think I'll forget about it tonight when I'm in the Acme Oyster House," Bohn said.

Among the five players tied at 67, the former champion Couch was the only one who finished without a bogey on his card. Still on his way back from 2008 shoulder surgery, Couch has played sparingly in the last two seasons and his 2006 victory remains his only PGA Tour win.

"I happened to roll in a couple of long ones today, so that helps you get on to a good streak there," he said.

NOTES: Bohn will turn 37 on Saturday. He also captured a win on the Nationwide Tour in 2003 and two wins on the Canadian Tour between 2000-01...Defending champion Jerry Kelly opened with a one-under 71 and was tied for 39th place. Kelly snapped a six-year winless drought last year...Kyle Reifers set the course record with a 64 in the first round in 2007.

Super Bowl XLIII Betting - Super Bowl 2009

Super Bowl 2009, the Arizona Cardinals and the Pittsburgh Steelers.

Let’s take a look at the Super Bowl 2009 betting odds and the betting line and figure out where they’ve been and where they are going to go.

MySportsbook.com put up the Super Bowl 2009 betting odds late on Sunday night with the Pittsburgh Steelers favored by 6.5 points and a total betting line at 47.5 points.

Since then, however, the Super Bowl 2009 betting odds have seen a good deal of movement and you’ll want to be on top of where they are likely to move to make sure you get the best line value for the big game.

Since opening, the Super Bowl 2009 betting lines went to Steelers -7 in the span of roughly 3 hours but were quickly bought back down just minutes later to 6.5 again.

After that is took about 5-6 more hours before the betting line went back to -7 where it has sat for a while now and is likely to remain. The opening betting total of 47.5 was bet down right after the line became available and went to 47 within minutes.

Roughly a day later it has been bet even further down to the 46.5 tally it currently is set at.

Roughly 60% of gamblers seem to be on the Cardinals here so the point spread will be bet down and a 7.5 would not last very long at all with many taking the early 6.5 in hopes of finding a potential middle in the Super Bowl 2009 betting odds.

If you like Arizona and see a 7.5, I’d take it as soon as possible because it’s unlikely to last. For Pittsburgh backers, the -7 might be the best you’ll be able to find but a 6.5 is definitely possible close to game time.

Regarding the Super Bowl 2009 betting odds for the total, most tracked gamblers are already on the over and with those who took the under 47.5 already securing a middle on the over 46.5, the only way I see it moving is back up to 47 so if you like the over, I’d recommend betting now.
